Privacy policy relating to video surveillance of shops
- Data controller, purpose and legal basis of the processing:
ALLU MEA Trading L.L.C (the “Company”), whose registered office is at Office No. 701, Thuraya Telecomunication Tower, Barsha Heights, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has placed its stores under video surveillance in order to ensure the safety of its customers, staff and property, and to prevent fraudulent activities.
We collect CCTV footage to ensure the safety and security of individuals on our premises, to protect Company property, and to maintain a secure environment. This includes measures to prevent and detect theft, fraud, or other unlawful activity that may affect our operations or customers.
For employees, CCTV processing is based on your explicit consent to support workplace safety and incident prevention.
For visitors and customers, consent is obtained by entering the premises, where clear signage indicates that CCTV monitoring is in operation for safety and security purposes.
All CCTV processing is limited to what is necessary for these purposes and is carried out transparently, with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data.
- Data and categories of data subjects:
Employees, customers and other individuals entering the store are likely to be recorded on video by the surveillance system.
- Personal data collected :
Video recordings, including images, movements, behaviour patterns, and any incidental personal data captured in the monitored areas (e.g., attire or belongings visible on camera).
- Recipients:
The recordings may be shared with Valuence Japan Inc., the parent company of the Company, which, as a data processor, reviews the recordings on the Company’s behalf in accordance with the Company’s instructions. The recordings may be accessed by the authorised personnel of the Company and of Valuence Japan Inc. (in particular by the personnel in charge of security and by the management personnel) and by the police. The Company’s personnel responsible for maintaining the equipment may also access the images for this purpose only.
- Transfers outside the the United Arab Emirates:
Video surveillance footage is stored in UAE, but the security and management personnel of Valuence Japan, Inc. in Japan may be able to access the footage online.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data and ensure that any cross-border transfer complies with applicable data protection laws
- Retention period:
Video surveillance footage is kept for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, maintain the security and proper functioning of our systems, or as required by applicable law. Once the relevant retention period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal data in accordance with our data retention procedures in compliance with applicable law.
In the event of an incident relating to the security of people and property or a fraudulent activity, the video surveillance footage may nevertheless be removed from the system. They are then stored on another medium for the time needed to complete the procedures linked to this incident or activity and are only accessible to authorised individuals in this context.
- Security Precautions
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data collected through CCTV systems against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised access, or disclosure. Access to CCTV footage is restricted to authorised personnel only and handled in accordance with the Company’s confidentiality and security procedures. Where footage is shared with third parties (for example, for investigations or maintenance), they are required to apply equivalent security and confidentiality standards and process the data only on our documented instructions.
- Data subject rights:
You may have the following rights in relation to your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws:
(a) Receive information relating to your personal data being processed by us (commonly known as a “data subject information request”).
(b) Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you to ensure it is accurate and up to date.
(c) Request erasure of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or where processing is unlawful.
(d) Request restriction or objection to the processing of your personal data in specific circumstances, for example where the accuracy of the data is contested or where processing is no longer required.
(e) Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
